Most man can be a father but it takes a special man to be a Dad.
I saw this quote on Nicky Bryne of Westlife Twitter page and I feel it is very appropriate for this post. Today, we have Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees as part of our Father’s Day Special.
Other than being a performer, Jeff is also a father to four lovely children; Alyssa , Jeffrey Jr, Karsen and Ashten. As a performer and singer to a newly reunited boyband, 98 Degrees, it is of no wonder that Jeff will have to travel and tour often with the group. You must be wondering how he feels being separated from his children and wife during this period of time?
The thing is he will not be separated with his family because they are with him during the tour. Being constantly in the public’s eye, Jeff ensures that his family is protected at all times.
Being a father has of course changed Jeff as a person. He shared that he is now 1000% less selfish (okay Jeff, we believed you) and about 2% more mature. Hmmm.. Really? 😉
I’m sure you are curious on how this founding member of 98 Degrees is as a father. Jeff described himself as a big kid who tries to instill values and respect in his children. However, he is not strict, since his wife, Amanda, handles the rule enforcement. Some of the activities that Jeff enjoys doing with his kids are coaching them in sports and playing video games. Adding on, he helps them with their homework. Jeff does see humour and silliness in his kids which he finds similar to him.
I was curious what kind of song Jeff will dedicate to his family.
The song above was his choice and he dedicated it to his daughters. I had a listen to the song and had tears in my eyes. Pay close attention to the lyrics and you will see why this is a perfect song.
To Jeff, every day is Father’s Day. He treasures the time the family spent together. “Everyday is a blessing and unforgettable,” said Jeff.
Jeff do received a certain label attached to him, FILF. I’m sure most of you know what the acronym stands for? But for the benefit of those who are unaware of it, go look it up on urbandictionary.com! It is no surprise that he gets that label. Knowing so, he is honoured and humble for that label.
I am sure you are eager to know if 98 Degrees will be coming to Singapore anytime soon. “I hope so. Favourite place on the planet.” I am keeping my fingers crossed.
