During this pandemic, we see so many people getting really creative especially in FOOD! Today, I am going to share with you something related to Sushi! Sushi lovers will love this creation, an alternative of the usual version of maki & sushi rolls. Baked Sushi is in the trend now. It is somewhat similar to baked rice and lasagna.
Instead of rolling the sushi, a variety of ingredients are placed on a baking tray layer by layer. It is then baked in the oven to ensure the portions are fully intact. Sushi rice is the main item at the bottom.
Here is what you will need:
Sushi rice (seasoned with a little salt, white vinegar & castor sugar)
Mayonaise (I used KewPie)
Diced cucumber
Cooked crabstick (sliced and mixed it with mayonise)
Canned tuna
Seaweed
Now, time to prepare it!
Step 1: Spread the bottom of the tray with sushi rice.
Step 2: Add canned tuna onto the rice. I used the spicy tuna from Ayam Brand.
Step 3: Then, add the diced cucumber, crabstick that was mixed with mayonise.
Step 4: Once all is done, baked it in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees. Do not forget to pre-heat your oven!
What is a sushi without seaweed?
Wait for the food to cool down and scoop a spoon of the baked sushi and wrap it with the crispy seaweed sheets. And with that, you have done your first baked sushi!
