A Cheesy Twist to your Breakfast Hashbrown!

Thinking of making a different version of hashbrown for breakfast or tea time? If you know how savoury Begedils (deep fried potato patty) are, the following recipe is a lighter alternative and far simpler to make!

You will need:

  • 500 gram of potatoes
  • 100 gram of Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of corn flour
  • salt and pepper


Boil the potatoes till they are soft and mash them.


Add cheddar cheese, corn flour, salt and pepper together in a mixture.


Before molding it, wash your fingers with corn flour so that the dough will not stick to your hands. Roll them in a round shape.


Then, flatten it and mold them into a donut shape.


Deep fried it till it is golden brown. This fried potato will not be too overwhelming with cheese and oily. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, just the way I like it!

Here is a tip. Make a big batch so that you can keep the rest in the freezer and fry it whenever you have a crave for it! Let me know how it goes and if there is any recipes that you want me to try!
