She sings, writes and plays the guitar. Meet 21-year-old Jordyn Stoddard.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla, Stoddard is no stranger to the entertainment industry. She has opened for acts such as The Band Perry, Brett Eldredge, Lee Brice, to name a few. Back in 2015, she released her debut album, Southern Tide, which soared to number six on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s chart and reached top 40 on Apple Music’s Country Music Daily chart.
Stoddard described her music as being the perfect line between country and pop. She revealed that her songs are usually melody driven and she tries to write catchy hooks so that it gets stuck to your head. And that is exactly what she did with her new single Bad Baby.
Bad Baby is self-written by Stoddard and her good friend, Peyton Porter. The single is about falling in love with someone and wanting to take that next step with that person. “You know you both like each other but when is the right time to say it out loud. I wanted it to be dreamy in the verses but powerful when the chorus hits,” explained Stoddard.
If you are waiting for the music video, be patient! Stoddard shared that she will be releasing the music video really soon. Just like you, she cannot wait to share it because this music video will mark the start to her new branding and music. She gave us some hints on what you can expect in the video; colours and fun!
So will we be hearing an album soon since it has been four years since she released her debut album?
Stoddard plans to release more music soon but an album and EP is not in the pipeline as of now. She wants to release more singles so that the audience will be able to dive into the song and analyse the message behind it. “I am so eager for people to hear more music because it is very honest and is exactly what I have been searching for as a songwriter,” shared Stoddard.
