Kabuki Warriors – that is the team’s name for WWE Superstar Asuka and Kairi Sane. Both Japanese female wrestlers are well known in the WWE Universe as they create amazing moments in NXT and WWE.
Asuka who has been with the company for almost five years, was dubbed the female version of Goldberg due to her winning streak in the company as she holds the NXT Women’s Championship for 510 days. She was then promoted to the Main Roster and continued her streak to win the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match. She was also the Smackdown Women’s Champion in her tenure.
Kairi Sane, on the other hand, has been in the company for two years and was the first inaugural winner of the Mae Young Classic. She even defended the NXT Women’s Championship at the first ever All Women PPV “Evolution” against her long time rival Shayna Baszler.
Both wrestlers are well known in Japan before coming over to the states for WWE but both have never met in Japan prior to their signing to WWE. When asked what they like about each other, both complimented each other on how hard working and passionate they are in their arts. And of course, they ended it by complimenting on how both looks great in the ring!
Asuka and Kairi have paved their own path before starting their career as wrestlers. Asuka worked as a freelance graphic designer and video game journalist. She is very passionate as she attended this year’s E3 being a big fan of Monster Hunter. She even owns a hair salon in japan where she manage and drops by occasionally when WWE Tour hits Japan.
Kairi’s journey as a wrestler was actually a coincidence as she started off as an actress. She was offered a role a “Heel” wrestler and that was where she fell in love with the art of wrestling and pursue it.
When ask to pick their favourite moment in WWE thus far, they simply can’t pick. Both simply state that they were happy for the opportunity to shine and perform for their fans, it’s up to their fans to decide which was their favourite.
Being Japanese wrestlers in the United States was not easy for both. Language barrier was one of the major difficulties they faced. Followed by the diet that was to be followed strictly. But the most difficult obstacle that they have to face was driving in the states which Asuka mentioned. As Japan is mostly right hand driving, it took her sometime to master the left hand driving. Asuka mentions that driving in the states will definitely lessen your burden due to the fact that it’s much more easier to get around in the states than taking the public transport.
With the Women’s Tag Team Championship being introduce at Elimination Chamber, both wrestlers are vying to get their hands on the gold prize. But they have to go through the current champions “IIconics” Bille Kay and Peyton Royce. As the next PPV Extreme Rule coming, we just have to wait and see if all that hard work will come to a fruitful finish for the Kabuki Warriors.
The Fifth Parlour would like to thank WWE for inviting us to the interview and Asuka and Kairi Sane for the interview.
