‘Make the Future Singapore’ introduces new segment ‘Lates’: Lauv and Jasmine Sokko to perform

Make the Future Singapore, a free festival of bright energy ideas and innovations for Asia, will take place for the second year in a row at the Changi Exhibition Centre from March 8 to 11, 2018. This public festival serves as a platform for conversation, collaboration and innovation around the global energy challenge: how to generate more energy, while producing less CO2 emissions.

A new addition to the festival this year is Make the Future Singapore Lates, which is an after-hours event on March 9, 2018 for those aged 18 and above. Explore the festival, participate in discussions in an open-format casual forum, Let’s Talk, while enjoying live performances as well as unique food and drinks offerings. Known for hits such as I Like Me Better and The Other, American singer-songwriter Lauv will be headlining Lates. Also on the line-up is local artist Jasmine Sokko.

Jasmine Sokko

Jasmine Sokko has risen to be one of the most-streamed local artistes on Spotify when her debut single 1057 became the top song on Spotify Singapore’s Top 50 Viral chart and eighth in Spotify Indonesia’s Top 50 Viral chart in October 2016. The accompanying music video has made its way to MTV Asia’s Viral Charts, clocking in at Number. 2 by end October 2016.

She has since played at the 2017 ULTRA Music Festival, collaborated with five-time DJ Awards winner, Lucian, and will be opening the set at Lates.

Lauv

Lauv, the American singer-songwriter known for his hit tracks such as The Other and I Like Me Better will be headlining Lates. The 23-year-old resembles an auteur in his assemblage of electronic tones, airy beats, jazz-inspired guitars, and soulful vocalisations. Having recently opened for Ed Sheeran in 2017 on his Asia tour, Lauv will be back in Singapore to perform at Lates. Resonating with fans worldwide, Lauv’s songs have yielded over a quarter-of-a-billion cumulative Spotify streams in under a year’s time and a sold-out headline tour.
