Against the Current’s Chrissy Costanza vocals defy gravity

The Gravity World Tour visited Singapore on Monday. Opening the show was pop-punk band, Sign of Five, who were known previously as Dropbeat Heartbeart (we did an interview with them previously).

Gearing the crowd with their originals and covers, the band even took this opportunity to talk about local music and thank everyone for their support. They even urged the audience to keep supporting local music and tweet #supportlocal and tagged their favorite local acts.

The audience had to wait for close to 30 minutes for YouTube sensation, Against the Current to appear on stage. The wait was worth it when Chrissy Costanza appeared and opened the show with my favorite song, Talk. The show started with a high energy performance and it lasted throughout the one hour concert. It is amazing how a petite lady has so much power in her voice. Chrissy’s energy on stage infected those around her, the fans. Everyone was singing and jumping with her.

The band also took this chance to share with the fans about the band being signed to Fuel by Ramen which gives them the opportunity to record an album in Los Angeles.  Hopefully, we will be able to listen to it soon. Those who attended the show was also given a sneak peak of what to expect from the album as the band performed Outsiders, which is said to be a song from the album.

The show got even more intimate when Chrissy, Will and Dan chatted with the audience and even took questions from the crowd. Not only that, they even shared their grapes with the fans. Chrissy even went down the stage to hug a fan after she was impressed by a fan’s gift.

It is nice to see bands appreciating their fans and spent time to interact with them during shows other than performing. Against The Current is definitely a band with great showmanship and personality.

The Fifth Parlour would like to thank Colin from Impact Entertainment Group for the invitation.
