The annual MTV Europe Music Awards or simply the MTV EMA is back this year despite the shift to the digitalisation of music performances, award shows around the world. Since 2013, the international award show has recognised talented musicians in Southeast Asia with the inclusion of the Best Southeast Asian Act category. The contenders in this year’s edition include our very own, Benjamin Kheng!

Among the nominations released, Lady Gaga is in the running with seven, including Best Artist, Best Pop and Best Video for her duet with Ariana Grande – Rain On Me. BTS and Justin Bieber each received five nominations including Biggest Fans and Best Pop. The 27th edition of the EMAs includes three new categories: Best Latin, Video for Good and Best Virtual Live.

MTV EMA airs on 8 November 2020 globally. The two hours award show will unite fans at home while it promises awesome performances from the hottest artists and celebrates the power of music in 2020.
