Based in Toronto, Gold Complex is an interesting combination of classic soul with pop and R&B, a sound that is uniquely their own. Having built a strong fanbase in Canada, they have headlined venues such as Lee’s Palace, The Rivoli, Mod Club and the Horseshoe Tavern. They released their self-titled EP last April and have been described by CBC’s Error Nazareth as ‘smooth, catchy and sexy’. Their first two singles Tread On Me and Backbone were well received on radio nationwide and they were also featured on the Nickelodeon television series, Open Heart, which is now available on Netflix.

Following the success of their debut EP, Gold Complex is excited to bring their sound to a bigger audience and reach out to the world. The release of the Deluxe Edition features a brand new hand painted album artwork and psychedelic deep house remix of ‘Tread On Me’. This re-issue is available exclusively on Soundcloud and showcases the band’s musical diversity and technical prowess.
In celebration, a black & white music video for ‘Backbone’ is now available to watch on Youtube. Will Bowes, the lead singer of Gold Complex adds, ‘Backbone is a sexy, funk tune about conviction – saying what you mean and meaning what you say, especially when it comes to a relationship.’
The band is currently recording their debut full length album, “New Soul”, which is set for release in April 2017.
