Cold War 2 Gala Premiere

Last Tuesday, Marina Bay Sands hosted the The Cold War 2 Gala Premiere.  It was a grand event attended by the best actors, Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok and Eddie Peng as part of the promotion to promote the upcoming police action blockbuster sequel.

Eddie Peng and Aaron Kwok made an appearance during the meet and greet session, greeting enthusiastic fans who had been waiting for the duo since hours before. Before the casts appeared, groups of contestants were brought up to the stage to stand a chance to win prizes and chances to get close with the casts.

The contestants had to reenact a scene in Cold War 2. The finalists were chosen based on the cheers of the crowd in the mall. The three finalists then had to reenact the scene again while Eddie and Aaron judged them. The lucky contestants even got to take a group picture with the casts themselves.

After the meet and greet, it was time for the red carpet! Slowly, the crowds started to fill the shopping mall; at least four levels of the mall. Local celebrities such as Elvin Ng, Pierre Png and his wife, Andrea De Cruz, veteran actor, Chen Tian Wen were first seen walking the red carpet.

Producers of Cold War 2, Bill Kong and Ivy Ho next walked the red carpet. However, it was pretty disappointing with the way the organisers planned the event. When the host introduced them, they mistook the entrance and made everyone look bewildered on where the main focus of the guest should be arriving till they walked up to the stage did they then realised, causing a moment of awkwardness for the guest and everyone who were wondering who and where they were.

The casts were next to walk the red carpet starting with Eddie Peng, Aaron Kwok and lastly, Chow Yun Fat and his wife. The cast greeted the crowd in the mall with great enthusiasm, especially Chow Yun Fat who appeared on stage for the first time as he did not join Eddie and Aaron during the meet and greet earlier on. To memorialise the special event, the cast penned their signatures on the big back drop behind them.

Although, there were minor hiccups during the event, the event went smoothly and successfully.

The Fifth Parlour would like to thank Encore Films for the invitation.
