Feast your eyes and mouth on Japanese Kaiseki Cuisine at Gion Dining

As soon as I heard that Gion Dining has received their Halal certificate, I knew I had to visit the restaurant since I absolutely love Japanese food. It is hard to find a Halal Japanese restaurant in Singapore hence the excitement.

Located at the second level of Royal Plaza on Scotts, Gion Dining offers authentic Japanese cuisines. I was so fortunate that Deals.sg had an offer for the13-course deluxe Japanese set meal for two at $48.

This serving is for four people: Tamago, Tori Maki, Yasai Sarada, Shake Sarada, Shake Sashimi

Right from the start, the service was excellent; they were attentive to our needs, and brought out our food swiftly.

So now let me feast your eyes with the delicious cuisine that I gobbled down in an hour. Included in the 13-course sets were Tamago (Egg Roll), Tori Maki (Chicken Roll), Yasai Sarada (Vegetable Salad), Shake Sarada (Salmon Salad), Assorted Sushi Plate, Maguro and Shake Sashimi (Tuna and Salmon), Bata-yaki Shake (Butter Grilled Salmon), Ebi Fry (Fried Prawns), Fishball Miso Soup, Chawanmushi (Japanese Egg Custard), Shake with Rice (Salmon with Rice) and Yoghurt desert.

When they started serving the course, the Maguro and Shake Sashimi which consists of Tuna, Salmon, Octopus and white fish, caught my attention. Just by looking at it, you can imagine how succulent and tender it is. Being a salmon lover, i’m so happy that most of the items served in the deal consists of Salmon!

Oh Ebi Fry or some call it Ebi Tempura, I was surprised when I saw you. Usually, the ones I come across is a XS size,  above is an XL for me. Till now, I am still dreaming of this and want to have more of it. Should have ordered another plate of this.

Bata-yaki Shake or Butter Grilled Salmon is my mum’s favourite. Every bite of the grilled salmon, you can taste the butter however it does not overpower the salmon.

Shake with Rice is Salmon with Rice which was served towards the end. By then, I was already full. I could not finish it but for the love of salmon, I still finished it.

Overall, my experience at Gion Dining is a great one. Not only are they attentive to the customer needs, they are also generous in their serving. So now, when people mention about Royal Plaza on Scotts, it will not just be Carousel but Gion Dining! For more information on Gion Dining, head over to their website and like their Facebook Page.
