In celebration of the start of a new university year and SG50, NTU Fest 2015 was held at Promontory @ Marina Bay, causing waves of loud cheers from the audience. Opening the concert with great enthusiasm were GOH Mr Heng Swee Keat, Education Minister, NTU senior management and MediaCorp artist, Rebecca Lim, who led the crowd in singing Home.
The concert followed with powerful performances by the Final 1 contestants, Bonnie Loo and Alfred Sim. The cast of Tanglin then took the stage to share some interesting incidents which happened during the production. From the interviews, viewers of the series can definitely look forward to the great chemistry shared among the cast on set. The stage was then handed to Julie Tan and Elvin Ng who sang Blank Space and When You Say Nothing At All respectively. Elvin Ng stayed on stage to join his cast members from Sealed With A Kiss. Fans definitely enjoyed this moment when their idols were all together on stage sharing about their relationships with each other off camera.
Elvin and Rebecca were even asked to rate each other’s kissing scenes, getting everyone hyped up and curious about the drama! To celebrate SG50, 5 of the 8 Dukes of Mediacorp joined on stage to perform XinYao Medley. Fans of Romeo, Zhang Zhen Huan, Shane, Jeffrey and Ian gave their loudest cheer to welcome them on stage individually!
Just when the audience and fans were completely immersed with the dukes’ voices, homegrown band, District 12, rocked the stage with hit songs like Domino and Payphone.
Finally, the appearance of the long-awaited Korean girl group, Dal Shabet, got the audience singing along to their hits songs, Supa Dupa Diva, Mr Bang Bang and their latest single, Joker.
The girls were finally back in Singapore and greeted their fans with warm smiles and cute aegyos. Needless to say, the crowd completely went wild, returning their cuteness with endless screams and cheers.
During the short interview, the girls shared that they were very honoured and glad to be back in Singapore and were grateful for their fans’ support and definitive replies with song lyrics when they encouraged a sing-along session. Despite the strong wind, Dal Shabet still gave their best performance and included many cute actions directed towards the fans. And with their final song on stage, Dal Shabet brought the concert to a spectacular end, closing the entire event at a peak.
