Stories – The Youth To Become Album Review

What comes to your mind? Koala Bears? Kangaroos?

For me, it will be all about music – bands! They have produced a lot of fine bands that have made it not only on their own home ground, but across the oceans as well! Lets name a few, Tonight Alive, The Amity Affliction, Hands Like House, Northlane and Parkway Drive.

Recently Australia biggest hardcore/metalcore recording company UNFD, decided to combine forces with one of American metalcore/hardcore recording company, Rise Records, to release their bands records in North America exclusively through Rise. UNFD and Rise kept a dark secret under their basement with this particular band. So when we got first hand on this band upcoming album and were given first listen, my oh my, i was not expecting an eargasm experience.

Hailing from Sydney, Stories, released their debut EP Void in 2013. They garnered attention from fans around Australia before spreading their wings internationally. After 2 years, they are back with their debut album The Youth To Become under UNFD/Rise Records.

This album is a masterpiece! This album has the influences from Underoath, Lamb Of God and even the very band who discovered them, Northlane. From the vocals to the breakdown of every song, the album will spark a memory from your Secondary or pre-tertiary days when you were listening to the early days hardcore/metalcore bands. A song from the album that you need to look out for Is Shadow Window. The vocals and guitar in that particular song are spot on!

Fans of Northlane and Underoath must give Stories a listen! I promise you, it will be worth every minute and penny you spent on the album!
