Tiger Beer’s The Unofficial Official Party of SG50 with The Griswolds & The Kooks

Tiger Beer had set the stage for the Jubilee celebrations with their exclusive Tiger Beer’s The Unofficial Official Party of SG50 earlier this week. Highlights of the party include Chilli Crab Fountain, Hawker DJ and even snow as voted by fans on their Facebook page. But of course, the main stars of the show were The Griswolds and The Kooks, whose electrifying performances easily became the limelight of the whole party.

Australian band. The Griswolds, pumped up the audience with their upbeat and catchy songs, teasing the likes of a mix between Vampire Weekend and Simple Plan. Hailing from Sydney, the 4-piece band kept the energy going throughout their set with songs including Down and Out, Right on Track, and crowd favourite If You Wanna Stay. We sure couldn’t resist dancing along the whole time!

British indie rock sensation, The Kooks, had the whole theatre cheering in unison when they finally appeared to a minimalist red screen backdrop with the band’s name across. The visual then changed to a giant lip-syncing to the choir part of Around Town, the band’s hit single in 2014. They brought the house down after with hits like Naïve, She Moves In Her Own Way, Junk of The Heart and Always Where I Need To Be. Luke’s soulful vocals and eclectic dance moves complimented the band’s unique sound, undoubtedly so given their years playing together. Definitely a night never to be forgotten! Great performance from both bands and we hope they will drop by Singapore again for a full set!

The Fifth Parlour would like to thank Ruthf rom Ogilvy for the invitation as well as Irma and Iryani for covering the event on behalf of The Fifth Parlour.
