Not your average Jazz Festival: Feat. Jessie J and Naturally 7

Following its stunning debut earlier this year at the Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore International Jazz Festival (Sing Jazz) is back again this coming March 5-8 to enthrall music lovers with another thrilling programme of jazz and jazz-inspired music. With the beautiful Singapore Skyline as the backdrop, more than 250 artists came together over to perform over the 4 nights.

Moving on to the second night of the festival, we had performances by Naturally 7 and Jessie J, with many other artists before that. Just in case you have completely no idea who Naturally 7 is, here is a short introduction to them.

Naturally 7 is an American music group with a distinct acapella style they call “Vocal Play”, they sing primarily R&B with extensive beatboxing (they have really dope skills!). Naturally 7 wowed the crowd with their amazing vocals and breath-taking beatboxing, different types of instruments just by using their voices. They performed songs like Summer Breeze and even did their own rendition of Coldplay’s Fix You.

Now moving on to the main highlight and the headliner of this year’s festival, it is none other than Jessie J!

Jessie J took her #sweettalkertour to Singapore and wowed the crowd with her strong vocals! Jessie mentioned earlier during the group interviews: “Not once in my life have I ever not sung live, nothing is auto tuned.” She indeed lived up to her words as she sang some songs from her new album ‘SweetTalker’ and even performed her famous hits like Price Tag, Domino and Bang Bang which had the crowd singing along loudly!

Indeed, Day 2 of Sing Jazz ended with a bang! We found ourselves singing and dancing to the music. Stay tuned to our next post for the interview with Jessie J! For more pictures of Day 2 of Sing Jazz, head over to our Facebook Page!

The Fifth Parlour would like to thank Tessa and her team for the tickets to the festival.
