B.A.P (acronym for Best, Absolute, Perfect) is a six member South Korean male idol group who debuted in 2012 under T.S Entertainment. Led by Leader Bang Yongguk with vocalists Kim Himchan, Jung Daehyun, Yoo Youngjae, Moon Jongup and rapper Choi Junhong (Zelo), the group represents the first K-pop act to be featured in MTV music series – MTV Sessions.
On 11th September, BAP performed exclusively for over 300 privileged Singapore fans (BABYs) at state-of-the-art Resorts World Sentosa’s Waterfront Studio. No time were wasted as the boys kickstart the session with Excuse Me as soon as they got on stage. Performing against a backdrop of flashy video effects and dozens of stage lights, the group send fans into a screaming frenzy as they gave an effortless performance of other hit tracks such as Hurricane, Where Are You?, Lovesick and to later, close the stage with 1004 (Angel).
In between tracks, the boys paused for conversation with MTV VJs Alan and Hanli to answer some questions sent in by fans. When asked who the quietest member in the group was, it was a unanimous answer as Zelo, Jong Up, Young Jae, and Dae Hyun pointed to Bang Yong Guk. They also shared their love for Singapore’s Chilli Crab and send the crowd into shrieks of laughter as they indulge in their “chilli crab” dance to express their love for the local dish.
For the close to 300 privileged fans, they left on a high, feeling satisfied, privileged and screaming for more. It was no doubt an intimate and up-close session between BAP and BABYs. Lighting up the studio with BAP’s official green Matoki Lightstick, they cheered endlessly as the boys continue to impress the crowd with their solid vocals and fancy dance moves.
