Fast food around the world tend to localize their menu in order to cater to the public, likewise for McDonalds and Burger King.
McDonalds started selling the Satay burger a few weeks ago. As usual, some love it while some hate it. I tasted the Beef Satay Burger last week and I think it tasted okay. The cucumber added a crunchier taste tot he burger. I don’t love but I don’t hate it either.
I was curious when I was the Burger King’s advertisement on Channel 5. They promoted as being the REAL Satay Burger which means one thing, they are trying to challenge Mcdonalds. I love this healthy competition because this gives the consumer a choice! I was impressed when I saw the burger. Nowadays, it is hard to find a burger that is bigger than your palm. Trust me, as the years goes by, the size of the burger is decreasing. Thankfully, this time, it was bigger than my palm. The Satay’s sauce is sweet and when you bite into the beef patty, I could taste the Satay!
So who is the real winner for me?
I’m sure you are able to guess who managed to capture my stomach. Burger King, if I can’t find any food at home, I’ll be back for sure. Writing this post makes me want to head down to any hawker center to buy some Satay!
