Malaysian hip-hop powerhouse K-Clique recently turned up the heat at Mediacorp’s CLOUD 9 music festival, and they had the entire venue jumping! The Fifth Parlour was lucky enough to catch up with the boys during their time in Singapore for a quick chat about their journey and what’s next.

As the DJs from Ria 89.7 FM warmed up the crowd, fans of all ages; especially the Millennials who have been bumping their tracks since day one – rushed to the pit to capture the moment. We tried to get a sneak peek at the setlist beforehand, but the group remained tight-lipped. Looking back, the surprise was worth the wait
Hailing from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, K-Clique is an independent collective featuring MK, Noki, SoMean, KDeaf, FareedPF, Gnello, and NastyNas. Representing Malaysia with a raw, live performance is everything. CLOUD 9 served as the perfect playground to showcase their signature style, connecting with a diverse audience through their original hip-hop sound that stayed firmly rooted to their identity.
When you have career-defining hits like Pulang, Mimpi, and Sah Tu Satu, narrowing down a festival setlist is no easy feat. Instead, K-Clique decided to lean into nostalgia with a twist.
“We actually changed up the musical arrangements completely for the festival,” they shared. “We wanted to entice the crowd so that even if they knew the tracks, they would hear the new live version and go, ‘Whoa, I love this song!’ It’s our favourite way to keep the fans energised, on their toes, and totally surprised.”
As Millennials themselves, the group admitted they were especially hyped to vibe with the massive crowd. However, they noted that what makes Singapore truly special is the sheer variety of people in the audience. From Gen Z to Gen X, and even some Baby Boomers nodding and jumping along at the back, they felt the love from every generation the moment they touched down at Changi.
K-Clique’s Musical Evolution for 2026

“We have got a massive library of composed and drafted unreleased tracks,” they teased. “Tons of demos.”
For K-Clique, in 2026 and beyond isn’t just about releasing more music; it’s about evolution. The group is actively refining their lyrical style to stay ahead of the curve, ensuring their message grows alongside their audience. They are moving towards a more mature sound, aiming to motivate the younger generation while still deeply resonating with their long-time listeners.
As they put it: “It’s all about striking that perfect balance for every age group in our audience.”
