I did not realise how much I was looking forward to 22nd May until I heard an R and B playlist in a random restaurant, playing Ne-Yo hit songs.
The moment SAHEntertainment announced that they are bringing in Neyo, my friends and I did not hesitate to grab ourselves his tickets. So glad that my friend got tickets because it is a sold-out concert!
On the day itself you can see and scope out all the potential concert-goers; millenials just like us. There was a palpable sense of excitement amidst the crowd at The Star Vista.
Not wasting any time, Ne-Yo came out at exactly 8.15 pm rousing the crowd with his hit, Miss Independent. With his electric blue blazer, all black satin outfit, and his signature fedora hat, Ne-Yo dished his smoothest dance moves. I have to give credits to his four dancers that were with him throughout the show. They kept the crowd pumped and they themselves were fabulous dancers.
In the middle of the show, Ne-Yo sang a few of his ‘future-classics’ as he called it, new songs from his latest albums. What the crowd went crazy for were of course his ‘classics-classics’ such as All Because of You‘, Closer, Let’s Go, Beautiful Monster and more.
However what really brought everybody not only on their feet but jumping around and singing our hearts out, were his ‘classics he wrote for people’ which includes Beyoncé’s Irreplaceable, Rihanna’s Take a Bow and Mario’s Let Me Love You.
There was also a segment he did where he brought ladies from the audience to dance with him. What is worthy noting was despite the dance moves being pretty sensual, Ne-Yo was respectful and a delight to watch his interaction with the fans.
Just as he stepped off the stage, crowd was chanting “Encore! Encore! Encore!”. Not missing a beat, he broke out into his most (from my humble opinion at least) famous song, One in a Million.
What a wonderful way to start the work week and end the night! Ne-Yo was amazing and I wished the concert would have gone on forever. Crowd was also amazing and just vibing off each other’s excitement.
Cannot wait to see which amazing artistes SAH Entertainment will be bringing in next.
