Hyperplay is an event for both esports and music fans brought to you by MTV. Singapore is chosen as the home country to host the first ever Asian League Of Legends competition where we see top teams from Asia competing for the trophy.

Audience were treated to two semi finals between Team Malaysia vs Team Phillipines and Team Singapore Vs Team Vietnam on day one. All four teams fought with honor but only two team advanced to the finals.

In between sets, MTV invited the most decorated artist around the world and this year line up is amazing TOP notch.

Day one of Hyperplay started with a local band – The Sam Willows! The band showed Asia and the world why they are one of the biggest bands in Singapore right now. Performing songs from their debut album Take Heart and their latest I Know, But Where, they managed to make the audience danced along to their upbeat songs. It is really good to see they still got it in them!

After the second semi final, the leader of one of South Korea popular girl bands, 2NE1 – CL closed day 1 with a bang! Blackjack (2NE1 fans) were seen waving the group official light stick and singing along to every songs she performed. CL performed her singles such as Baddest Female, Dr Pepper and Hello Bitches and a few 2NE1 biggest hits like Come Back Home, Falling In Love and I am the Best. CL was pretty much the baddest female that night and showed us why she have the legion of fans behind her. It is evident she was having fun and it is no wonder that she is one of the top female artist in South Korea.

Day one ended with a bang and we really hope that it will be a yearly affair!
