This has got to be one of the most highly anticipated world tours: 24K Magic in the air. Set to travel across continents from the US to the UK and later on to Europe, Bruno Mars has finally made his stop in London!
Due to popular demand, two extra nights were added this week, summing up to a total of four nights just in London alone. His concert was held at O2 arena which has a seating capacity of 20,000. That sums up to an impressive 80,000-strong audience gathered in London for Mars!
The opening act was Grammy-nominated artist Anderson Paak who kickstarted the night of musical excitement. Blasting off his first concert in London, Mars took over the limelight with most of the hit songs from his third studio album, 24K Magic. These included Finesse, 24K Magic, Perm, Calling All My Lovelies, Chunky, That’s What I Like, Versace on the Floor and Straight Up and Down.
This continued with his older hits like Marry You and Runaway Baby with stronger drum patterns from his band, The Hooligans. A sudden switch in mood with When I Was Your Man had the crowd screaming out loud and then falling into complete silence. Mars gave a touching rendition of the song, with a slight moment where he appeared to be holding back his tears too.
Moving along, the audience only got more hyped as Mars grooved to his international singles including an amazing fiery performance of Grenade on electric guitar as well as a mass sing-a-long with Just The Way You Are.
Mars kept the concert short with 16 songs, including encore hits Locked Out Of Heaven and Uptown Funk. Needless to say, the concert ended at its very peak as the entire arena got to their feet for the finale. It is no wonder one can still hear people grooving to I’m too hot (hot damn) on the tube.
Upcoming dates for Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic World Tour can be found on his website. And we can only patiently wait for the day when Mars returns to Singapore for a full concert!
