Everybody knows she’s All about the Bass, ‘Bout the Bass, No treble!
Breakout pop sensation Meghan Trainor will be in Singapore for the very first time this April and be sure not to miss her! On 23rd April 2015, the rising star will be performing at The Coliseum for MEGHAN TRAINOR – THAT BASS TOUR.
The 21 year old American singer songwriter shot to fame in 2014 with the release of her bold and bouncy debut single All About That Bass. The hit track represents a super-playful but unapologetic self-empowerment anthem for ladies who don’t fit the standard beauty ideal. Noting that the message of the song is to “love your body no matter what”, Meghan shared, “Wring that song, I was thinking about girls today and how there’s even more pressure to be thin now, because of Instagram and selfies and that constant competition”.
The song received an MTV EMA nomination for Best Song with a Message and Meghan was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. She is also in the running for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards, also Favourite Song and Favourite Breakout Artist at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards. In addition, the song has peaked at #1 in the iTunes singles chart in 58 countries. All About The Bass topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 8 weeks, making it the longest-running #1 ever released on Epic Records and beating the record set by the legendary pop star Micheal Jackson.
With songs addressing everything from drunk-texting and the walk of shame to dating anxiety and post-breakup heartache, there’s no shortage of All About That Bass-style honesty on Meghan’s hotly anticipated debut album “Title”, scheduled to drop on 13 January. Meghan is set to release a debut album that brings her intense flair for indelible melody to her own blend of throwback hip-hop, classic pop, and beat-heavy Caribbean music. The hot new single “Lips are Movin” has already hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gone platinum.
Already garnering rave reviews for her solid live performances, Meghan will kick off her first ever headline tour in February with sold-out shows in the US and Canada before coming to our shores. Singapore fans are in for a fun-filled, unforgettable night with Meghan Trainor on 23 April 2015!
