Minced Meat Sauce

Expecting  guests during Hari Raya at the very last minute and have nothing prepared, this recipe might save you!

Apart from the usual Hari Raya such as snacks, goodies and delicacies, chips and crackers are usually served too. Why not add an extra special sauce that can be eaten with it!

 

Ingredients

Handful of Onions, Garlic and Ginger
1 red Bell pepper
Blend the above ingredients with a little water.

300g Minced meat
1 Cinnamon stick
Cardamom, Star Anise, Clove (1 each)
2 tablespoon Sweet Soy Sauce
A pinch of Salt
1 tablespoon Chili powder
1 tablespoon Paprika powder
1 tablespoon Curry powder
1 teaspoon Tomato Puree
A small cup of water
Instant mixed Vegetables (carrot, peas, corn etc)
Cherry Tomatoes (dice into tiny pieces)

 

Steps:

Step 1: Heat the pan with oil. Put in cinnamon,cardamom, star anise & cloves.

Step 2: Add in the minced meat. Stir and let it cook for about 15 mins till it dries (remember to defrost the minced meat earlier so that it could save your cooking time).

Step 3: Add in the blended ingredients into pan. Then put in the Tomato Puree , Chili Powder, Paprika Powder, Chili Powder, Sweet Soy Sauce and  salt.

Step 5: Add in water,mixed vegetables and cherry tomatoes. Stir and let it cook for about 5 mins  until the sauce is thick.

Once the sauce is done, you can drenched the meat sauce on top of the chips. Other than being served as an appetizer or snacks, you can turn it into a main dish by accompanying the minced meat with Tortilla Wraps, buns, Chapati, French Loaf or even rice.

With this easy recipe and available ingredients at home, you do not have to worry about last minute guests during Hari Raya!
