The skinny on the chubby ones.

…Well, for lip products anyways. 😉

Lately I find myself gravitating towards lip products that comes in the form of chubby sticks/crayons. I personally find it makes application easier and there is just something in the formula (for the brands that I have tried anyways) that gives them a lasting power.

My first foray into chubby lip tint was during my US trip in 2011. Somehow while wondering around Sephora, I randomly picked up a LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint from Tarte cosmetics, which was then unavailable in Singapore.

The colour I got was called Hope. (Pictured is my second tube.) It is one of those “My lips but better” (MLBB) colours for me. Absolute perfection for every day lip. And for a while, it was the only lip product I used till I accidentally broke almost half the stick.

So along the way I forgot about it as the remains was stowed away along with my other unused makeup.

Early 2013, I re-discovered this type of product when Revlon came up with their own version called “Just Bitten Kissable” lip stains. (2 of them pictured. They’re the ones with metallic bottoms. My sincerest apologies as the printing rubbed off after constant use.)

(L-R: NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in ‘Baroque’, Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in ‘Sultry’, Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in ‘Hope’, Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in ‘Lucky’, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in ‘Rendezvous’, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in ‘Honey Douce’.)

For all the three brands that I have featured here, they are all absolutely long wearing, gorgeous pigmented colours, and moisturising.

I cannot say enough just how great these lip products are. It does not matter if you are just starting out with make up or you are a pro, you will be able to rock this type of lip tint formulas effortlessly.

The latest that I purchased was Revlon’s Colourburst Matte Balm in Sultry. Two words: Holy grail.

I am a sucker for any lip colours with a matte finish. But this particular formula is SUPER pigmented as you can see from my swatch. It is an MLBB for sure and I have a very strong feeling it will be my holy grail product for quite a while.

Usually with these, I do not need any lipliners or lipgloss. It is perfect for girls who are on the go and are fuss free.

So do try out and let me know your views if you have used these type of lip products before!

Stay beautiful readers. xoxo
