Local Celebrities Lend Their Support to the Gift A Guitar Initiative

Local musicians such as JJ Lin, Benjamin Kheng, Shabir Sulthan, Awi Rafael and our Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah are coming together to support the Gift a Guitar initiative, a movement that reaches out to underserved youths aged 13 to 20 through instruments and music education. These musicians have pledged their signed guitars to support the initiative.

The signed guitars will be auctioned to raise funds for the Business Times Budding Artists Fund. JJ Lin who donated his prized Martin D-45 supported the initiative as he believes in the power of music. “When I first held a guitar as a teenager, it opened up a world where I could dream, express myself, and connect. By supporting Gift a Guitar, I hope to spark that same fire in young people, so they too can find their own voice.”

Besides providing the youths with the guitar, lessons and mentorship, the youths will also have the opportunity to perform at the Sing60 Music Festival in December. A good platform for them to showcase what they have learnt.

If you are keen to be part of this initiative, you can either donate your guitar or make a cash donation. For more information, you can email danny.loong@timbregroup.asia and peishan_lim@trcl.sg.
