Zhin Sadali leads the nomination at the 18th edition of Pesta Perdana, an award show that gives recognition to the Singapore Malay entertainment industry. He is nominated in four categories; Best Supporting Actor – Telemovie/Anthology, Most Promising Artiste, Best Host – Info-ed and Most Popular Male Personality.

Before dabbling in television, Zhin has been active creating content with TheSmartLocal. Now, you will get to see him on Mediacorp Suria on Mondays as he is currently hosting the info-ed programme, Manja. With four nominations to his name, Zhin is honoured to be nominated alongside veterans in the entertainment industry.

The 32-year-old hopes to clinch Most Promising Artiste award as a testament for all the hard work he has put in and wants the people who has invested in him, production houses, producers and directors, to be proud. His prayer was answered as he brought home the Most Promising Artiste award on Saturday night at Pesta Perdana. Despite being in shock upon receiving the award, it proves to him that his hardwork was not in vain and people recognise his work. He is also thankful for the opportunities offered to him by Mediacorp Suria since he ventured into television four years ago.
Since his involvement in television, Zhin has been hosting and acting. Hosting has been his first love and he would choose hosting in a heartbeat if he had to pick one. “As a content creator, hosting is somewhat a subset of what it means to create content, sharing bits of information to our followers. I do feel that to a certain extent, content creation is somewhat a version of hosting based on the evolution of digital media,” explained Zhin.

So, what is Zhin’s wish list in the hosting industry?
Zhin would love do a travelogue and travel the world. This is not something new to him as he has done it on the YouTube channel, TheSmartLocal and on Mediacorp Suria, Manja Season 8. What sets this travelogue apart is that it will be his own travel series!
As Zhin continues in industry, he hopes to be given the chance to host the National Day Parade (NDP) and represent the Malay community. “Previously, I was given the chance to host for Singapore’s Countdown in 2023 and I feel that is a step closer to my ultimate goal of hosting NDP one day,” shared Zhin.

With Zhin’s hunger to give his best for every role given to him, to attain what he wished for, is not impossible. Hardwork and determination are making him move forward in this industry. We simply cannot wait to see more of Zhin on television and we are excited to what is in store.
Congratulations Zhin for winning Most Promising Artiste!
The Fifth Parlour would like to thank Zhin Sadali for the interview and Mediacorp for coordinating the interview.
