“An episode of Trigger has never been cancelled in the history of KNS,” exclaimed Chief Park Dae Yong to Oh Soryong in a private meeting. Trigger is an investigative variety show on KNS broadcasting station hailed by the tenacious presenter Soryong, who goes to all lengths to uncover the truth.

After years of shunning advertisers and breaking some of the country’s biggest and most contentious news stories, the team days are now numbered. The team was caught in a controversial story and challenged to accomplish the impossible by uncovering the identity of an insider who has been leaking personal stories. Adding on, they have to solve a twenty-year-old cold case involving a famous actor who disappeared without a trace.

Streaming now on Disney+, the cast includes Soryong, played by actress Kim Hyesoo, her unwilling sidekicks, Han Do, played by the charming Jung Sungil, and Joo Jong Hyuk as Associate Producer Kang Gi Ho. The unlikely teamwork between the trio reaps chaos and laughter in this edge-of-your-seat Korean thriller series, Unmasked.

Hyesoo and Sungil shared some funny moments while filming. Sungil stumbled upon a rat and continued acting. It was so natural that the scene was added to the final cut. Hyesoo admitted that being very clumsy on set adds laughter and increases morale.

It is a breath of fresh air to see both actors in a new setting as compared to their roles in the past. Back when Sungil was acting in The Glory, he was the calm husband of an infamous high school bully, now, as Producer Han Do, he is the total opposite. To solve cases, he gets himself in dangerous situations on the ground together with Gi Ho.
