The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) is back for its seventh edition of Cultural Extravaganza (CE). The annual arts and cultural event showcases the vibrancy of our distinctive SINGAPO人 culture through crossovers between disciplines, cultures and generations.

The theme for CE 2024 is (Re)presenting Our SINGAPO人 Treasures as SCCC presents original productions and creative reinterpretations through theatrical performances, exhibitions and concerts by talented artists and arts groups. There will be a total of eight shows and two exhibitions throughout not to be missed!

The Pawned Wife

Kickstarting on the opening night of CE 2024 is The Pawned Wife, presented by Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Award (Organisation) recipient, Nam Hwa Opera. If you love watching opera shows, you will be immersed in the modern take of the classic tale.

Devoted to Serve exhibition

Devoted to Serve exhibition presents the stories of eight prominent local cartoonists; Tchang Ju Chi, Liu Kang, Shamsuddin H Akib, Koeh Sia Yong, Lim Mu Hue, Morgan Chua, Dai Yin Lang and Kwan Shan Mei. The original art works are accompanied by works of local illustrator Koh Hong Teng and students from local schools, emphasising the continuing interest in cartoons across the generations. This is a free event!

Jazz It Up! A Jazzy Celebration of Chinese Songs 2024

Jazz Association (Singapore) (JASS) returns with its fifth instalment of the Jazz It Up! series: A Jazzy Celebration of Chinese Songs 2024! The concert will highlight renowned English and Cantonese pop singer Teresa Carpio (杜丽莎), local Cantonese singer Wysom Wong (黃偉深) and singer-songwriter Serene Koong（龚芝怡). Enjoy an evening of jazzy renditions of well-loved Chinese evergreens and modern-classic songs performed by the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra (JASSO), led by JASS Senior Associate Music Director Weixiang Tan.
