Felip Fever Hits Singapore at Music Matters Live 2023

Felip fever has hit the Singapore shores and it is creating quite a buzz. When news broke out that he will be performing for Music Matters Live 2023, fans started congratulating him and expressed their happiness especially since he is the only representative from the Philippines.

Needless to say, his showcase at *SCAPE Ground Theatre was swarmed with fans who were eager to watch his performance. The Fifth Parlour had the opportunity to catch up with Felip before his performance.

It depends on which hat he is wearing. When he is performing with his band – SB19, he identifies as Ken. To create and build his identity as a solo artiste, he would like to be away from his known persona in the band hence, Felip is born. This has proven to be a success with him winning the Breakthrough Artist of the Year and R&B Performance of the Year for his single Palayo at the 8th Wish Music Awards.

Back in February, he released his debut EP, COM.PLEX. The hit single Rocksta, has garnered more than one million streams on Spotify! Using his EP as a medium to express his feelings to his supportive fans and naysayers, he hopes that listeners are able to appreciate his vocal flexibility and be inspired. With his music, he wants listeners to understand the importance of loving and appreciating oneself despite whatever is being said because you know yourself best. Besides that, Felip also would like to remind others to celebrate small wins instead of focusing only on the big picture.

Never say never! Even though he is not confident that he will be good at it, Felip’s dream role is to play a villain. Inspired by the manga that he reads, Felip excitedly shared a storyline in mind, “I want a specific story, like the main character is a good boy, but then there is a lot of bullies (that) bullies him and then he became a villain.” Sounds promising. I guess we will have to wait and see if we will get to see this side of him.

Exciting things ahead for Felip as he continues to explore his direction as a solo artiste. He aims to release an album and have his own solo concert in the future. With a huge fanbase and talent, I foresee that he will be able to reach his goals soon. Stay connected to Felip on his Facebook and Instagram.

The Fifth Parlour would like to thank Felip for the interview and Music Matters Live for coordinating the interview.

  1. That’s why FELIP inspired so many A’tin/Sisiw fans like me to keep going. Even though so many people are looking down to us as Human. He manage to revenge them with lyrics in his songs. Salute to FELIP and thank you Fifth Parlour for featuring FELIP.
