Representing mankind, Yoo Jaeseok, Lee Kwangsoo and Kwon Yuri continue to take on challenges and enter spaces to overcome difficulties. Eight powerful virtual stimulations with unexpected twists that may occur in the future giving everyone a glimpse of what mankind could possibly face. The chemistry between the three cast members was showcased brilliantly in the previous season, not only were they tackling real issues with the mix of comedy that encourages the audience to see more of them.

Sayuri is the nickname given to the trio by fans of the variety show. They kicked off the press conference with their comedic dance. The season returns after eight months and they expressed their gratitude towards fans for their support. Yuri mentioned briefly that they had bonded like real siblings and it gets evident when going through demanding missions especially when they only have each other to rely on.

Jaeseok revealed his favourite episode was when they invaded KAIST. They were seated on a movable bed that transports them everywhere in that prestigious institution. Baffled and stunned, they became the centre of attention wherever they go and how they randomly crashed an on-going wedding, which was occurring at the same time.

Adding on, Kwangsoo mentioned how important it was to be imaginative just like how they got deceived into a medical check up. He further mentioned that any human reaction shown during that episode was authentic and real due to the unforeseen situations planned by the producers.

Producers Kim Dongjin and Cho Hyojin also revealed that every episode is not linked to the previous season. Only that way they could creatively create fresh scenarios in every episode.

I really enjoyed the first season as it was a refreshing combination of Jaeseok and Kwangsoo due to their chemistry, with the addition of Yuri to the mix, makes it even better. I admire her ability to be brave among the rest. Also, I appreciate the way the show addresses rippling issues such as global warming, the effects of glaciers melting, rising sea levels making clean water a necessity in our daily life as the Earth gets warmer, as shown through virtual stimulations in the episodes.

The Zone: Survival Mission Season 2 is now streaming on Disney+!
